Harry Reid and the State of Nevada

“More to report after election 2010” was the latest op-ed I wrote and the last line inspired a friend and I to write a part two on the bizarre outcome of one election race in particular. While the American voters have much to be thankful and reasons to celebrate, we must not be too full of ourselves. Humility is the best weapon against evil and its minions as they have no defense against it. So let me begin my opining on this subject near and dear to all our hearts. J

I want to thank people of Nevada who voted for sending Harry Reid back to the Senate. Exercising your voting power the way y’all did has guaranteed a contentious next two years between the House and the Senate. His far left liberalism will continue to try and drive the same polices and agenda most of the nation voted against on November 2nd. Instead of declaring a break from the past two years of failed policies, extreme deficit spending, and cost increasing legislation, you have voted to continue supporting the socialist agenda.

Instead of focusing on issues needed to be resolved for the betterment of the nation and the American taxpayer, Reid will continue to push issues to the floor having no immediate impact on increasing jobs, reducing the deficit, or reducing spending. Instead we are looking at his failed Dream (Amnesty) Act being pushed to the forefront of other pressing matters and getting gullible Senators to support this garbage of legislation.

On the Bush era tax cuts, the defiance of the majority leader belied the party's losses for the evening, as the chamber moved ever closer to a 50-50 split. But Reid showed only a glimmer of compromise, while slamming the door, emphatically, on making all of the cuts permanent. Reid stated “I think the legislation introduced by my counterpart, Mitch McConnell, where you extend everything indefinitely, is a road to a $4 trillion addition to the debt we have, and that won't happen." He has already voted in total ignorance of the will of the people which has contributed to the massive deficit (over 14 trillion dollars) as it stands today. One thing he forgets, this so called $4 trillion addition to the debt we already have has not been included in the debt that has been accumulated today by the socialist/communist in the Congress. It was accomplished by the administrations spending policies which he supported!

Right now, current $$$$$ (what little is left) is being spent by the American people and not the congress is the reason the economy is at least moving slowing along. If these dollars are taken out of the economy in the form of more taxation where the average American taxpayer has direct control over how it is spent and given up to be controlled by congressional spending, what will occur is a retrenchment by Americans in their spending habits as their available discretionary income is reduced to meet new tax bills. These dollars will probably end up in some foreign country supporting their economy instead of our own. What is even more of a threat is the congress is looking at the expiration of the tax cuts as additional revenue to be spent; not reducing the deficit as they like to have you believe. It’s the classic case of the drunken sailor on a spending spree. And that’s an insult to drunken sailors since at least they spend their own hard earned money!

My opinion on why some candidates did not win.

Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell where dumped (thrown into the meat grinder) by the Republican Party as these candidates were chosen in the primaries by the people, not sanction by GOP establishment. Many of them were just starting out against experienced entrenched politicians, fighting a war with the enemies of the republic (the socialists), the main stream media and even the Republican Party establishment. Shameful but not unexpected.

Joe Miller of Alaska had no GOP backing, sore loser Murkowski put herself in as a write-in candidate along, and the local corrupt Alaska media outright plotting against him. Read, “Caught Red Handed” here: http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/hale/101101. In this instance the voters of Alaska were fooled by Murkowski and ignored her socialist policies.

Here is an analysis from blogger/writer Errol Phillips (an Independent Jewish Conservative) in the 2010 elections

Overall – a pretty nice showing in the elections. Took a major shift of momentum away from the Chicago Communists. The Citizens have awakened - hopefully - and now it is on to the next match in 2012. The Concerned Citizen Coalition AKA as the Tea Party did pretty well all things considered for a first time “run.” What is even better than the National Elections were the amazing and wonderful down ballot results: Republicans picked up 680 seats in state legislatures, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures -- the most in the modern era. To put that number in perspective: In the 1994 GOP wave, Republicans picked up 472 seats. The previous record was in the post-Watergate election of 1974, when Democrats picked up 628 seats. The Battle to take back the Whitehouse has begun.

While the future is somewhat better for the country (the liberals will never agree) the work for us to do still is great with difficulties and challenges. We will be fighting this war on two fronts. On Nov the 2nd the nation spoke as a total rejection of this administration’s (Obama) policies and agenda. Obama will never get it, Harry Reid still doesn’t get it, and sadly Nevada's who voted for sending him back didn’t send him the message. They didn’t get it either. Thank you Nevada, thank you!
