America Finally Getting Sick of Obama
the backlash against the media's fawning coverage of Obama is growing

Well, it's unanimous.
For the first time since this endless election cycle started, it appears that people are finally getting sick and tired of hearing about Barack Obama. Recent news reports show that large percentages of Americans believe Obama is completely over-exposed and given far too much praise and positive publicity. It would be nice if the nation could focus on a different subject, perhaps one that actually has some substance, but the mainstream media simply won't allow that to happen. Instead of providing coverage of the facts needed to address American doubts over Obama, all we get is gleaming smiles on magazine covers and squishy, softball interviews, saturation coverage of Obama speaking to wooing German fans and Obama posing in family portraits or pictures portraying him as a regular guy bowling or playing basketball.
But America is now beginning to take a second look at the dapper media darling, his relationships, his voting record and his past statements. Americans are much smarter than our media or political leadership give us credit for. And since they refuse to level with us about Obama, Americans are finding out for themselves.
For many months, the backlash against the media's fawning coverage of Obama has been growing. At first, the media issued stern denials that Obama was getting more favorable coverage, but then NBC's Brian Williams finally admitted what we all knew: Obama was indeed receiving more favorable and more extensive coverage by the media. Williams' excuse for the unbalanced coverage went like this: Obama was covered more heavily because John McCain had been in public office for over two decades and was a well-known commodity, while newcomer Obama was a fresh, new candidate with a historic chance to be the nation's first black president. And since Obama was relatively unknown, they were doing us all a favor and simply introducing him to us.
That all sounds logical on the surface, but the problem with Williams' excuse is that while they are giving Obama plenty of air time, they aren't talking about anything of substance.
- They aren't talking about progress in Iraq which has now led to an imminent agreement to begin troop reductions or Obama's continued denial of this very fact. No mention of his continued calls for troop reductions and timetables.
- They aren't talking about Obama's failure to produce an original birth certificate embossed with an official seal as proof of his eligibility to run for President of the United States.
- They aren't talking about the controversy surrounding his campaign's release of what appears to be a fraudulently altered copy of his birth certificate.
- They aren't talking about Democratic Party hubris in not allowing votes on offshore drilling or broadcast freedom.
- The aren't talking about the fact that Obama is the favored candidate of terrorists and rogue regimes worldwide.
- They aren't talking about the fact that most of his single, short, and incomplete U.S. Senate term has been spent in large part campaigning for President and missing more votes than 90% of his colleagues.
- They aren't talking about his Illinois Senate record, his socialist, liberal, pro-abortion and anti-gun leanings or his propensity to vote "Present" when confronted with really tough choices.
- They aren't talking about his pompous, presumptuous, egalitarian behavior or the fact that his disciples refer to him as "The One".
- They aren't discussing that some people are now calling him the Messiah or that the bumper sticker on the seat-back of his campaign jet says "President" or any of the other examples of his bombastic behavior.
- They aren't talking about the fact that it was Obama who first trotted out the race card by suggesting we'd all be scared into submission by Republican assertions that Obama didn't "look like all those other guys on the dollar bills." Neither are they covering his refusal to explain just what he meant by that flippant remark if not referring to his race or skin color.
- They aren't talking about his newly acquired propensity for switching or moderating his positions. Not a word about Obama's milquetoast, Friday call for both Russian and Georgian restraint in their ongoing conflict or the much more sternly-worded Saturday condemnation of Russia on BarackObama.com.
But as Americans find out more about this most favored of candidates, the more they are stepping back to ask the hard questions and take a second look at their first choice. And as an even more complete picture of the candidate begins to emerge, the number of Americans expressing doubt about Obama increases. After all, when you get down to brass tacks, all anyone really knows about Obama is what his campaign and the media have projected.
Compared to John McCain and virtually all of his other Senate colleagues, Barack Obama doesn't have much of a record in the Senate. He started campaigning for the presidency almost immediately after his election. If we are to examine any concrete data; anything other than his campaign's slick image presentation; any voting record at all, we are forced to look elsewhere, to Obama's career in the Illinois State Senate. There, Obama sponsored bills to provide universal health care coverage, drastically increase welfare, handcuff the police and burden them with administrative overhead, make it more difficult and time consuming for law-abiding citizens to purchase lawfully-regulated firearms for self-defense and generally expand government, welfare, affirmative action and other entitlement programs.
Although Obama supporters will never admit it, the ad campaign and strategy that McCain used to paint Obama as an entitled elitist is in fact working. Even Paris Hilton, in all her dizzying brilliance recognized that, which is what prompted her to respond to McCain's ad with her energy policy. By all accounts Ms. Hilton's policy is in fact more comprehensive than Obama's, which focuses almost exclusively on the development of petroleum alternatives, tune-ups and tire pressure checks.
Despite his best efforts to portray himself as the candidate most able to unite the country and bridge our vast differences, it is becoming increasingly clear that Barack Obama is not "The One". He isn't Superman. He isn't the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and if he doesn't begin to show some humility, he may not even be the nation's first black President. Rather, he is exactly what I've been saying all along:
An arugula-eating, socialist-leaning, hateful sermon spewing pastor-supporting, race-baiting, gun-seizing, marriage-destroying, baby-killing, tax-increasing, terrorist-sympathizing, job-killing, party-line toting liberal. Hardly a prescription for unity.

There bailing out the people so they can loose more than they lost, Stomping on them just like the poor and mentally ill that end up in prison, a garbage dump for the rich. Where heading for a down spin further than America has ever been with diseases severe threatening weather and homeless' people exposed to all of it. Its like one day we are walking and get our feet stuck in something but nobody wants to do a thing to stop it. Father what is wrong" Is our government blind deaf and retarded to not see that creditors and banking industries' and marketing is the root cause of it? Change the way the market is doing business or

As an older American I have lived through many U.S.. Presidents and I have never seen this much coverage for any of them. I thought Bush was bad but this is far worse. I blame the news media for their push to get his elected. We are now stuck with a President that is not doing his job but out doing T.V. shows while the economy gets worse. We are forgetting about the fighting our soldiers are doing over seas and need to report on them more.
